In the anxious hours preceding Jesus' trial and crucifixion, He tells his disciples, "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you." With these words, Jesus creates a calmness, a sense of peace in the midst of anxiety, danger and impending death.
Jesus' words continue to be words of endearment and solace to those who prayerfully seek meaning and spiritual wellness.
Since
the days of its predecessors, the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church has
echoed Jesus' reassuring words in its sanctuary and in the
congregational life of its people. In the Prince of Peace congregation,
compassion for each other and for the Taylor community is a reflection
of Christ's love for all people. Reflective listening, prayers of the
people for the people and a caring outreach to community are a
manifestation of Jesus' words.
